Types of Dermal Fillers There are many types of dermal fillers currently used for cosmetic and medical indications in routine clinical practice.

Temporary fillers are the type most often used for cosmetic purposes and there is a logical explanation for this choice. Aging is a dynamic process, making it inadvisable to permanently correct a defect at a specific point in time. The best strategy is to apply fillers as necessary to deal with the signs of aging as they appear. In addition to that, temporary fillers are much safer than permanent ones.

In our practice, we use only high-quality Hyaluronic acid fillers. The widespread use of this type of filler is due to its excellent safety profile, ease of application, and the good results achieved.

Hyaluronic is naturally present in the human body. It has a very high affinity for attracting and binding water molecules and can achieve substantial soft tissue augmentation after injection. The initial filling effect is directly related to the volume of the filler injected, but it has been shown that it also has an indirect effect in that, once deposited in the tissues, it activates the cells to produce more collagen which may enhance the body regenerative process.
